Ononis pubescens is annual plant belongs to family Fabaceae. It has compound, broad leaves. Leaves are alternate, trifoliate, and dentate or serrate. The flowers are yellow, flowering period from March to June. This plant is native to Algeria, Cyprus, East Aegean Is., France, Greece, Kriti, Lebanon-Syria, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Sinai, Spain, Turkey, Turkey-in-Europe.

Ecology:

It grows in Batha and phrygana habitats, it belongs to Mediterranean woodland chorotype. The members of this genus are often called restharrows as some species grow as weeds on arable lands whose tough stems would stop the harrow. They are natively distributed in Europe.

Medicinal uses:

It is a traditional Palestinian medicinal plant used as antimicrobial and antioxidant, it is used to treat bladder and kidney problems and water retention.

Distributions in Palestine:

Mediterranean Woodlands and Shrublands, Semi-steppe shrublands.
