Apricot season festival in Jifna village
Apricot season festival in Jifna village
Jifna is a Village with 1400 inhabitants in the center of Palestine. It is 660m above sea level and is located on the slope of a hill.
Locally many know it because of the cultivation of apricot trees. Each year during the first week of May people come from all over to be part of the harvest festival.
Another long tradition in Jifna is burbara, a sweet pudding dish which is made out of whole grain wheat. This dish is typical for the Feast of Saint Barbara on the 4th of December.
