The visitor to the nature reserve can find it as one of the leftovers of the Mediterranean climate forests in Hebron governorate, it extends from Khirbet Cressa to the lands of the town of Adana in the north and west of the land of the village of Reeth in the northeast and west of the land of the village of Deir Samt.

The reserve elevates around 45 m above sea level, the total area of the reserve is around 12,000 dunums, while the typical reserve has an area of 200 dunums, in addition to some areas rich in biodiversity, interested in the environmental sciences and nature reserves consider this reserve as an important one in biodiversity because it contains a diverse stock of endangered floras and faunas.

The reserve is described as the leftovers of a natural forest, it has included forest of pines since the Jordanian administration, as well as urban extension in the area.

Visitors can see native and endemic species in the area, such as oaks, mastics, Pistacia palaestina, wild sumac, and carob, which includes historical trees, and the reserve has several cultivated trees such as olives, almonds, pines and cypresses.

The reserve is also characterized by many water springs such as the spring of the qaifa, Ain Fara, Ain Al-Siyaiya, Ain al-Baptism, Ain al-Bustan, Ain Al-Teena, Ain Fares, these springs are used as drinking waters for human being and sheep and for crops irrigation.

The reserve is located in area C, it has been subjected to urban expansion due to the Israeli prohibition of expansion in the northwest areas of the zone and became residential houses from the Area of Kresa until Khirbet Soba to the east and west in the lands of Dura and Adana.
