Concluding Environmental Awareness Activities for the Students in Bethlehem and the Jordan Valley
22 March 2022

The Palestinian Society for Environment and Sustainable Development concluded a number of awareness activities in March, in Bethlehem and the Jordan Valley, on the occasion of National Palestinian Environment Day.

The awareness activities were in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority within the Mahmiyat project, and with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. The aim was raising the level of environmental awareness among students of ecology clubs about nature reserves and biodiversity. An additional goal was introducing students to various birds and raising their curiosity about the natural world.

The activities targeted 323 students in eight schools, and included printing of posters explaining concepts of the natural environment . In addition to a visit to the Mar Saba area in Bethlehem, they visited the Al-Auja Nature Reserve in Jericho.

It is noteworthy that the Mahmiyat project contributes to promoting environmental awareness and education through the implementation of activities related to nature and reserves in both schools and universities.
