Tree of Zacchaeus

Zaccaeus was a tax collector in Jericho and therefore not very popular within the community. He was, furthermore, quite short. A short man in the lowest village on earth what made him seriously short. Therefore Zaccaeus climbed up this sycamole tree when Jesus arrived in Jericho to catch a glimpse at him. When Jesus spotted him on the tree, he asked him to come down and host him for dinner. The surrounded people were shocked that Jesus would sully himself by being a guest of a "traitor". To see the tree of Zaccaeus is nice stopover and worth a visit when coming to Jericho.
