Sebastia Archeological Site

Close to the city of Nablus is an archeological site where you can discover the old city of Sebastia. Different historical sites, such as the Temple of Augustus, the Church of St. John, the Roman Forum and the Roman Theater make it a special historical place to visit. Especially since the Roman amphitheater was the biggest in Palestine, with more than 7000 seats. In addition to that there are ruins of a Byzantine church, where supposedly John the Baptist’s grave was found. Not to forget is a Lookout point which gives you a great view of the surroundings of the city of Nablus.
